Kitchen Cabinets To Ceiling No Molding
For our remodel i wanted cabinets that went up to the ceiling and a pantry finally.
Kitchen cabinets to ceiling no molding. You can even place knick. The crown molding detail on the cabinets gives the cabinets a polished finished look. I have a little kitchen with old cabinets and hardly any storage. And there is good reason for this as wall cabinets with these proportions are fairly accessible to most people standing on the floor or using a short stepladder.
If the ceiling height of your kitchen is nine or ten feet the cabinetry can be treated one of two ways. Drill a flat bracket or l bracket into each board and use it to connect to the top of the cabinets. The kitchen cabinets and molding do not go to the ceiling and the wall cabinets and trim will be just below the ceiling. Use a nail gun to nail through the boards into the cabinets and ceiling.
Even if the crown molding does not reach the ceiling it still gives the cabinets a finished polished look. Cabinets and trim go all the way to the ceiling but the cabinets will probably need to be stacked. In such cases crown molding can be affixed to the top frame of the kitchen cabinets and not raised all the way to touch the ceiling. The cabinets go almost up to the 9 ceiling and they appear even higher because the crown molding on the wall brings down the ceiling.
Any crown molding or trim will continue around the room above the cabinetry. The cabinet designer we re using says that we can t have crown molding on our tall cabinets and 96 pantry we have eight foot ceilings but no soffit thankfully. Place the boards vertically as you want them to go over your cabinets. Some kitchens have high ceilings and the cabinets of the kitchen do not come close to the ceiling.
