Caesarstone vs granite benchtop. A reputable kitchen designer will always caution clients not to use their benchtop as a cutting board and to wipe up spills immediately to avoid stains. Granite on the other hand is usually priced between 35 to 75 per square foot installed. Caesarstone has been tested to be more impact and stain resistant than granite. In most cases however granite is not uniform in its appearance.
Posted on march 7 2018 july 8 2020 by a plan kitchens. Individual bench top looks. While they are both exceptionally hard quartz slabs are slightly heavier and harder than granite slabs. I believe granite needs to be quite thick to avoid cracks.
Granite and quartz countertops both come from natural stone although caesarstone has additional manufacturing steps. Although caesarstone is 93 quartz it also contains some resins dyes and bonding agents. Overall granite is the less expensive option although there is some overlap in pricing between the two options. But it was more resilient than the granite benchtop i had in the house prior to that.
Caesarstone countertops generally fall in the range of 40 to 100 per square foot installed. Neither granite nor caesarstone is entirely scratch or stain resistant though. If i had to choose between the two i might opt for a not too plain dark caesarstone.
